ABOUT BOB KLEIN Bob Klein's inspiration for his Elvis collection began in the early 70's while having the privilege of seeing Elvis perform live thirty times in various venues from New York to Las Vegas. During one of his Vegas shows, Bob (seated ringside) received the "ultimate souvenir" as Elvis handed him the scarf from his neck and shook his hand. Quite a memorable evening for an 11 year-old boy. It was Bob's mother who not only gave him his first exposure to Elvis by taking him to a show in Madison Square Garden, but also to Elvis photos when she purchased for him the souvenir photo album and concert poster from that show. From that point on he was hooked. Initially collecting concert shots Bob quickly branched out into the world of candid photos. Though stage photos are nice, Bob feels that nothing can compare to a great candid of Elvis at play. After years of collecting Bob has now amassed one of the most comprehensive collection of Elvis Presley photographs in the world. Photos from his archives have appeared on the covers and in the pages of Discoveries and Goldmine Newspapers, Elvis World Magazine, Images of a Legend and Elvis International Forum. They have also been featured in several books including Elvis & You by Levin and O'Hara, Elvis In Hawaii by Jerry Hopkins and Elvis - Born To Rock by Bud Glass. Pictures from the collection have also been utilized in over thirty CD's for BMG and the Follow That Dream labels. Bob Klein is also a published photographer and his work has appeared in many major publications including: Goldmine, Discoveries, Modern Screen Country Music and Autograph Collector Magazine. For Bob the collecting never ends - somewhere out there is always another rare and unique photo to add. However, he does not limit himself to photos alone. He owns an extensive collection of international Elvis Presley 45's, EP's, LP's, CD's, and memorabilia. |
